1105 ELLIOTT AVENUE: Charlottesville, Va lochwood

Renovation of a home built in the 1920s in the Belmont neighborhood became a challenging exercise in physically and aesthetically reconciling existing and new features.

Stripped of all but the studs, the design utilized modern, eco-friendly techniques such as spray-foam insulation as it was completely rebuilt. The floorplan was reshaped to reflect an open plan full of light and focused on views of the South Mountains. A kitchen addition to the rear of the structure and completely new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing features ensure the most modern standards for living within the existing shell.
