POPLAR TERRACES: Falls Church, Va

The Washington Metropolitan area is witnessing unparalleled growth. The natural landscape is disappearing quickly. In this climate land development is inevitable, however the goal of this project is to preserve a connection with the land, balancing the natural with the man-made.

Anna Herring purchased this 1.64-acre parcel and cottage in 1947, living there until her death in 1999. She loved nature and all living things. A gardener by choice, she labored tirelessly, caring for this land. Every effort has been made in the design to preserve the spirit of her efforts; the land transformed for future generations to appreciate and nurture.
